What is the minimum bet that must be reported to the IRS?
As required by law, all winnings must be reported to the IRS, however, as most seasoned Players know, you should keep track of all your wins AND losses as the IRS is only interested in your NET winnings. It is recommended that you keep all your losing tickets as they can be deducted as losses against that BIG WIN, coming soon! The Casinos won't ask for any ID (e.g., Driver's License) up to $10,000 a game. Once you start playing over $10K a game, the Casinos are required to have you fill out some paperwork. Bottom line: Keep records if you plan on filing a return using your winnings.
