PVS FAQ What is the Public Virtual Sportsbook?
Sportswire.com's Public Virtual Sportsbook is a place in Cyberspace where each visitor is given "stars" or "units" to play on all Football, Basketball and Baseball games that have a line in the major casinos in Las Vegas. Players can wager between 100 and 500 stars on each game, with a maximum total wager across all games not to exceed 2500 units a week in each sport (College Football, NFL Football, College Basketball, NBA and Major League Baseball).

When the games are final, Sportswire.com's auto-correcting database will look over all of the Public Virtual Sportsbooks (PVS) Players selections and grade their specific won/loss record against "Sportswire.com's Official Posted Line". This is the same line used to grade Sportswire.com's Professional Handicappers League (PHL). Each game won by a PVS Player will automatically credit his account with the number of stars wagered.

All Player's performances are then ranked against the spread for the week, month, and year to date in order of stars won in Sportswire.com's Rankings Report. Winners are given *prizes* for their performance and the Top Ten Performers will be listed on the PVS home page as well as in the rankings report.

In addition, prior to game time, the cumulative opinion of the Top Ten Performers will be analyzed by the Sportswire.com database and when a consensus of opinion of over 75% exists on any game, a Top Ten Consensus Play (T10C) will be made available for sale prior to game time. An example of a T10C is: Dallas plays Buffalo, 8 of the Top Ten Players have selected Dallas and 2 have selected Buffalo. This would result in an 8-2 80% "Top Ten Consensus" qualifier on Dallas.
